If you need emergency assistance to help you stabilize your family through a crisis, special programs can help. Rent/mortgage payments, utility payments, and food vouchers can assist eligible families, provided that funds are available.
The Planning and Research team maintains a research/resource library and seeks funds from available sources to continue to operate existing programs and to expand others to better serve all residents.
If you need transportation to your job, a medical appointment school, or shopping, St. James Transit can take you there. Buses with schedules routes operate regularly within the parish.
Free tax preparation services are available to all parish residents through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Income tax returns will be submitted electronically and prepared by trained staff members.
