If you’re in need of assistance or you’re looking for ways
to help, please contact the St. James Parish Department of Human Resources at
St. James Parish Government would like to thank all of the
volunteers who have assisted so far in the recovery process. The outstanding
effort made by the volunteers has produced tremendous results.
In order to effectively coordinate volunteer activities,
individuals and groups should first call the Department of Human Resources at
(225) 562-2344. The volunteer’s skills and services will be matched with a
resident in need of assistance.
Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to
Louisiana businesses and residents affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and
straight-line winds that occurred Feb. 23-24 through the U.S. Small Business
The SBA St. James Parish Disaster Loan Outreach Center is
located inside the Romeville Senior Center at 8188 Romeville St. in Convent.
The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.
to noon on Friday. No appointment is necessary.
SBA representatives will be on hand to answer questions
about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help
each individual complete their application.
Parish President Timmy Roussel is appealing to the community
to support the residents affected by the severe weather on Feb. 23.
An account has been opened at Louisiana Federal Credit Union
(Account# 126332) to accept donations. Checks may be made payable to "St.
James Parish Tornado Relief Fund." For a list of Louisiana Federal Credit
Union locations and hours, please visit https://www.louisianafcu.org/locations-hours.
In addition, you can also bring donations to the St. James
Parish President's office on the 2nd floor of the Convent Courthouse from 7:30
a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

address, please call (225) 562-2286 or (225) 562-2415 between the hours of 7:30
