Our Mission |
|
The mission of the St. James Parish
Department of Human Resources is to empower individuals
and families to self-sufficiency by providing resources and
services to improve the quality of life. |

Why Mobile
Technology? |
|
The Mobile Technology
Program was created to foster and support the initiative of
educating our
citizens through computer technology that would result in job
placement and/or job advancement. |
|

Program Funding |
|
The program is funded by the St. James Parish Council and a
three (3) year grant from the State of Louisiana, Office of
Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG).
The program is designed to provide training in the following
areas:
Basic Computer Skills
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training
General Educational Development (GED) Preparation
Basic Job Skills & Readiness Training |

The Mobile
Technology Vehicle |
|
The Mobile Technology Vehicle is a
customized Bluebird bus equipped with 9 compact Dell computer
stations, satellite internet capabilities, and a 42” plasma
display monitor.
Our goal is to utilize the Mobile Technology vehicle to provide
tools and resources to help St. James Parish citizens adjust to
the technological demands of the future.
The Mobile Technology Vehicle has been designed to continuously
respond to the changing dynamics of technology. |

groups, businesses, community & civic organizations,
government and educational establishments to further develop the
residents of
this parish

Eligibility
Requirements |
|
The Mobile Technology Program is available to low-to-moderate
income residents of St. James Parish meeting at least one of the
following criteria:
Residing in Districts 4 or 5
Senior Citizen (62+ years of age)
Housing Authority Residents & Families
Head Start Children & Families |

Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
