Lutcher Library - East bank

The Parish Library system is administered under the direction of the Department of Operations and the Parish Library Board.  The day-to-day issues are under the supervision of Ms. Jennifer Seneca, Parish Librarian.  In this age of new technology, the Parish library has moved in the direction of more emphasis on computers and Internet services as well as complete automation of the library operations.  As library services change from extensive long-term research and data collection towards instantaneous retrieval of information via the world-wide web, the library has made several changes to maintain the highest level of services.  The library supports the use and availability of Internet service computers and houses over 81,700 volumes of books and periodicals.  The main library occupies 15,124 square feet of indoor space and has a staff of 12 full-time and part-time employees.  The main library is located along W. Main St. in Lutcher, La.  The west bank branch library supports the same level of services and maintains free Internet access, interlibrary loan services, and referenced automation.  The Vacherie Library houses a staff of 6 full-time and part-time employees.  The hours for the libraries are as follows:
